USA Volleyball will host an International Development Qualifier Tournament (IDQ) June 27-28 at Alamitos Beach (off Shoreline Drive and Ocean Boulevard) in Long Beach. Approximately 60 teams will be competing, including members of the Youth and Junior Beach National Team (Under 19, Under 21 and Under 26).

The event, part of Charter Communications Long Beach Sea Festival 2009, will identify elite beach athletes for entry into select international events and other USAV High Performance Beach programs.  Teams that finish in the top four of IDQ events will get the opportunity to represent the U.S. in select FIVB and NORCECA events.

Entry cost is $30 per person, per event (register as a team) and is open to all beach athletes.  Contracted AVP athletes must confirm eligibility based on rank with the AVP prior to the competition, which will be pool play with double-elimination playoff.
